Snorkeling at Hanifaru Bay
Snorkeling at Hanifaru Bay

Hanifaru Bay is a marine protected area in the Maldives and is located just few minutes away from Dharavandhoo. Hanifaru Bay is a core area of the Biosphere Reserve. Though the size of Hanifaru Bay is no greater than a football field, it has become one of the best spots on the planet for dive enthusiasts, and underwater photographers and videographers. A massive concentration of plankton are present at Hanifaru Bay attracting hundreds of Manta Rays. At any one time there can be up to 200 Manta Rays feeding off the coral reefs as well as plenty of Whale Sharks doing the same in Hanifaru Bay.
Our guest house will provide snorkeling trips to Hanifaru Bay, which has become the world’s largest Manta Ray feeding destination. In order to give the highest level of protection, scuba diving is prohibited at Hanifaru Bay.
